The Aga Khan Foundation Walk & Run
This year, we have a number of opportunities for you to #RunForAKF, stay fit, and raise funds to help transform lives.
Thanks to the funds you raise, AKF can continue to improve food security for vulnerable families; train nurses to deliver front line health care; educate children to help girls and boys get a better start in life; and support would-be entrepreneurs to get their start-ups up and running, creating jobs and raising incomes. These are just some of the ways the funds you raise can help improve the quality of life for some of the poorest and most disadvantaged communities in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
Together we can break the cycle of poverty and create a healthier, happier and more prosperous world for everyone.

Your fundraising efforts and engagement have been fantastic. With every £1 raised resulting in £10 going to the project, thanks to the Swiss government, you helped raise over £2 million toward better health and clean sanitation in Tajikistan!
These funds will allow AKF to work with 100 communities in Tajikistan to construct 100 safe water supply systems and over 200 communal toilets. 100 management groups will also be trained to ensure the systems are maintained and sustained. The result… Improved water quality, better hygiene, less waterborne disease and fewer premature deaths.
The project is also helping empower women by reducing the time spent collecting water by as much as two hours a day. With more free time, women can pursue more productive work and earn higher incomes, or support their families and communities in other ways.
