Where we work

The Aga Khan Foundation has a presence in 21 countries globally, implementing programmes in 17 of those including in:

  • Eastern Africa – Kenya, Madagascar,  Mozambique, Tanzania and Uganda
  • West Africa – Ivory Coast and Mali
  • Central & South Asia – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan and Tajikistan
  • Middle East – Egypt and Syria
  • Europe – Portugal, Russia

Our work

The Aga Khan Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life, promote pluralism, and enhance civil society. It brings together human, financial and technical resources to address some of the challenges faced by the poorest and most marginalised communities in the world.  Special emphasis is placed on investing in human potential and expanding opportunity, especially for women and girls.
